Background :
  • Yuen Fat Godown is a large 8-storey building located at Cheung Sha Wan, West Kowloon and has a total floor area of over 80,000 m2 and a total storage capacity of 98,000 cubic tons. It provides services for general storage, container / cargo consolidation and distribution, and package center management.
  • In 2010, Yuen Fat Godown intended to have a few Alteration and Addition Works carried out to their building including but not limited to alteration and addition of outdoor A/C units, E & M plants, transformer & LV switch room and generator room.


  • Troika's Works :
  • Acting as the Authorized Person and Registered Structural Engineer to handle various Alteration and Addition works at the building.
  • Preparation of design calculation and plan for supporting frames and sketches of outdoor A/C Units and submission of relevant statutory Forms to the Buildings Department via the Minor Work Control System for the installation.
  • Preparation of design calculation and plan of supporting frame for E & M plants and submission to and negotiation with the Buildings Department for approval of plan and consents of work.
  • Preparation of design calculation and plan of new transformer & LV switch room, including openings on walls and slabs, new interior access stair and modification of foundation and submission to and negotiation with the Buildings Department for approval of plan and consents of work.
  • Checks of structural loading for addition of 150mm thick concrete on slabs and partition walls for BD submission.
  • Amendment of BD approved plan for change of trench layout and floor level for BD submission.
  • Amendment of BD approved plan for adding of an additional generator room for BD submission.
  • Amendment of BD approved plan for change of metal rail design for BD submission.
  • Structural loading check for addition of thickness of concrete slabs and partition walls.
  • Structural design and details for enlargement of existing lift door opening for BD submission.
